Leading With Integrity: Receiving the Wanbil Lee Ethical Business Leadership Award
In 2021, I was honoured to receive the Professor Wanbil Lee Prize for Ethical Leaders in Business, awarded by the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM) at UNSW. This prestigious recognition is presented to MBA students who exemplify entrepreneurship, innovation, leadership, and business ethics, demonstrated through active ethical practices within their workplaces
Receiving this award was a profound affirmation of my commitment to embedding cultural integrity and ethical leadership across all facets of my work — from founding Indigicate and co-founding SupplyAus and DHUWA Coffee, to facilitating truth-telling processes and advocating for systemic change. It underscored the belief that ethical decision-making is not only a moral imperative but also a catalyst for sustainable and inclusive business practices.
The award, established by Professor Wanbil Lee, a renowned advocate for ethical computing and business practices, aims to inspire leaders to resolve organisational challenges ethically and to contribute positively to society . Being recognised among peers who strive to 'do the right thing right' reinforces the importance of leading with integrity and purpose.
This accolade serves as a reminder that ethical leadership is essential in driving meaningful change and that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples can lead with strength, wisdom, and cultural pride in any arena.
